Beautiful Christian Art and Hand Made Journals 

I Am Prayerful grew out of a time of reflection and listening. Drawing on a passion for textiles and paint, self-taught maker Sam Cartwright began exploring textile and mixed media art, creating a number of textile landscapes. Backgrounds are printed on fabric using a manipulated mono-printing plate. Layers of recycled fabric, organza and torn paper lend structure and depth. Embroidery, printed card and beading add texture and interest.

Sam wanted to call the project 'Prayerful Home' but that name was taken, so I Am Prayerful was born. A couple of open days were held at home in Buckinghamshire to get the word out, and the ideas, words and scriptures kept coming. The textile pieces clearly needed an outlet, and this web site followed.

Out of a personal interest in journaling, Sam developed hand-printed Christian Journals in two size formats, experimenting with a range of papers, paints, stamps and additional elements. The journals contain 50+ pages and provide space to write, doodle and sketch with prayers, prompts and delicate images to inspire. Journals based on Poetry quotes have been added to this collection for our non-Christian friends, and Sam would love to incorporate poetry into her textile work too.

A selection of textile designs have been printed onto 10" decorative ceramic plates as an inexpensive way to own a print, and quality poster prints  will be available soon.
